Mike’s Place is a nonprofit entity whose mission is to provide safe, supportive and clean living to young men in early stages of recovery from substance abuse.
We operate a four bedroom furnished house in Rockville, Maryland (close to the town center) with a live-in group manager (an individual active in recovery with 20+ years of clean time), having space for up to six residents. Treatment is not offered, and the residents pay a modest amount to help defray expenses. While some staples are be provided, the residents need to provide their own meals. We believe that having a positive, structured, recovery-centric environment allows the residents to better develop basic life and employment skills, while living in a positive, clean and supportive community. Suitable residents of the house are young male adults (generally in their twenties) who have 30+ days of clean time and a demonstrated commitment to recovery. We would expect people to stay in the house for a 6 to 12 to 18 month transition period.
